Antihistamines

Abstract


Antihistamines are commonly used medicines throughout the world. They are used extensively to provide symptomatic relief in allergic conditions such as hay fever, skin rash, itchy skin (pruritus) and insect bites and stings. Besides being used for allergic conditions, antihistamines are used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, as sedatives and in cold and flu preparations to help dry up nasal congestion.
