UNIT STANDARDS and the Pharmacist’s Assistant

Abstract

The Standard Generating Body (SGB) for Pharmacy is currently engaged in revising the existing Unit Standards and qualifications for the Pharmacist’s Assistants Qualifications. Stakeholders were requested to provide comments to the Pharmacy Council. Pharmacist’s assistants are affected by the unit standards, but may not always understand how or what it means. This article looks at some of the basic principles involved, and discusses the way forward.
